The speech features of ClaroRead SE are powerful. One of the key benefits of ClaroRead SE is that it can read back menus, button texts and tooltips, as well as any text displayed on screen. The program will also instantly read back any text that you select using your mouse. It will also read back characters, words and sentences as they are typed.
Computer users experiencing dyslexia and other situations have endorsed the speech capabilities of ClaroRead SE.
Key Speech Features:
Have text spoken from anywhere within Microsoft Word by simply clicking the cursor at the point you want to start, and clicking the Play Button. Text highlighting is also available.
Have any text read back instantly once selected by your mouse. Great for making web pages and e-mails talk.
Echo back letters, words or sentences as they are typed into your computer in most applications. Great for positive confirmation that you have typed what you wanted to.
Automatically hear web pages in Internet Explorer, many menu items and “objects” read by hovering the mouse over the item.
Make audio files (.wma and .wav) from documents for listening to later on your PC. Or you could transfer the audio files from your computer to a portable audio device such as an iPod.
ClaroRead SE Settings:
The ClaroRead SE Settings allow you to choose the voice, control the speed and volume, open the pronunciation edit and save speech to an audio file.
Advanced settings allow you to change settings for mouse hovering, mouse select, keyboard echo and text highlighting when speaking text from Word.
Colour Explorer:
ClaroRead SE also includes Colour Explorer (worth £9.99) courtesy of Microlink PC. The link between colour contrasts and glare on reading has been recognised for years. Many people have benefited from coloured screen overlays. Colour Explorer allows you to adapt background, foreground and font colour combinations to best suit your eyes and once set will apply to all documents. Colour changes are made to the PC and not the document.
